“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

About The Course

Suffering is a human condition all of us will experience at one point or another in our lives. Some of us more often than others. But, because of Jesus, our pain is not meaningless; it is deeply integrated into the story of redemption, spiritual growth, and the hope of eternal life.

This course dives deep into the biblical wisdom God grants us in Isaiah 61. By learning to understand our ashes, we can reveal strength through faith, and, eventually, embrace the God-promised beauty in our futures.

About Wisdom Workshop

Over the span of her ministry, Dr. Oliver witnessed all too often women who were overwhelmed with parenting challenges, dysfunction in their friendships, struggles within their marriages and family relationships, anxiety over career and education pursuits, confusion on God’s plan for them in leadership and ministry, and struggling to connect with the wisdom of God in overcoming their emotional, mental, and physical responses to these challenges.

Along with her daughter, Carolyn, she decided it was time to ask the Lord how to support and help women of all ages reconnect their daily lives with the goodness of God’s wisdom that is given to us through Christ. Their first attempt to address this need was to post short conversations online for their community and pray with those that responded to those posts.
